Administrative context
Admin levels 1 and 2 in Nepal
The LDT uses Nepal's province-to-local-level structure so users can compare municipalities while still reading results in their provincial planning context.
In the 2025 LDT release, Admin level 1 includes 7 provinces, and Admin level 2 includes 751 municipalities.
As Nepal transitions into a three-tier federal administrative system, the district level, comprised of 77 distinct regions, is removed from the main LDT two-level rollup. What remains is the federal level, provincial level, and local / municipal level.
